Vol. 225 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Fuel Depot.

32.

Mr. O'Leary

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why the fuel depot has been moved from Dorset Street, Dublin; and whether any transport arrangements will be introduced for those now unable to collect their fuel.

I am informed by Dublin Health Authority that owing to demolition work, the fuel depot at Frederick Lane, Dorset Street, is not available this year and that efforts to obtain alternative accommodation in the area have been made by Dublin Health Authority and the supplier, but so far have not been successful. Arrangements have been made to deliver turf free of charge to aged or disabled persons in receipt of home assistance who formerly obtained fuel at this centre and other persons affected may use whichever of the other depots is most convenient for them.
