Vol. 225 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Burglary and Housebreaking.

23.

asked the Minister for Justice the number of cases of (a) burglary and (b) housebreaking that have occurred in the country in the past 12 months; whether these figures show an increase on preceding years; and if he will state in respect of cases that have occurred in the past 12 months, the number in respect of which convictions were secured.

The Annual Report of the Commissioner, Garda Síochána on Crime for the period ended 30th September, 1966 will not be available for several months yet. The main reason for this is that each annual Report contains a follow-up until 31st December of crimes that become known in the course of the year ended 30th September. The Report will be published and will contain the information asked for in the question.
