asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will state the position of a number of employes of his Department who are on loan from AI stations; and if they will become permanent employees of his Department.
Since 1958 a varying number of supervisors employed by AI stations has been on loan to my Department for different periods of service in connection with the Bovine Tuberculosis Eradication Scheme. Arrangements have been in train for some time past with a view to the holding of a special competition by the Civil Service Commissioners for a number of posts of agricultural officer, Grade 8, in my Department for which those of the AI employees who have had an appropriate minimum aggregate period of loan service with the Department will be eligible to compete.
