Vol. 226 No. 3

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin City Lighting System.

5.

asked the Minister for Local Government when nightly and week-end inspections of the public lighting system in Dublin city will be resumed; and if, having regard to the major contribution which road lighting can make to road safety, he will ensure that all necessary steps are taken to reduce light outages to a minimum in number and duration.

I understand from Dublin Corporation that nightly and week-end inspections of the public lighting system in the city were resumed on Monday 12th instant. I am satisfied that the corporation have taken, and are continuing to take, all practicable steps to reduce light outages to a minimum in number and duration.

May I say how glad I am that my question had the desired effect? I can understand the jealousy of other people.
