Vol. 226 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Qualifying Age for Social Welfare Pensions.

148.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if it is intended to grant all pensions administered by his Department at the ages of 65 years for men and 60 years for women.

The introduction of amending legislation to reduce the qualifying age for old age pensions is not contemplated at the moment. Widows' pensions and blind pensions are of course payable to persons under the ages mentioned in the question.
