Vol. 226 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Continental Markets for Agricultural Produce.

31.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if, in view of the fact that the ESB have a proposal to purchase machinery and equipment to the value of two million pounds from France and the great difficulty being experienced in finding markets in France for Irish agricultural produce, he will take steps to use this order for the ESB requirements and orders for all other imports from continental countries to barter for markets for agricultural produce at the best possible prices.

The Deputy may take it that all practicable opportunities, which are not necessarily offered by barter deals, are availed of to find remunerative markets abroad for our agricultural produce.
