Vol. 226 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Protection for Window Cleaners.

113.

asked the Minister for Finance what safety devices are provided on Government-owned property to ensure that men engaged on window cleaning on buildings are afforded the maximum protection from accidents.

In common with the great majority of buildings in Dublin and throughout the country, Government offices generally are not provided with built-in safety devices for window cleaners. The problem is being examined but it is a very difficult one and I would not like to suggest that a quick and easy solution will be found.

The proper time to consider the question of safety in window cleaning is, of course, when a building is at the design stage.
