Vol. 226 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Bog Plots.

42.

asked the Minister for Lands what steps he proposes to take to provide bog plots at Oughterard, Moycullen and Spiddal, County Galway; and when he expects these to be provided.

The Land Commission have on hands a 350 acre bog at Knockranny, near Moycullen, on which it is hoped to accommodate deserving local applicants for turbary as soon as practicable.

Is the Minister not aware that we were told that this would be done last spring? Why the change in time now?

Who told the Deputy that?

It was yourself. You are shifting so often it is impossible to know who is there.

I do not think that is so.

I now understand why the Fine Gael Party are introducing compulsory retirement at 50 years of age.

They should have done that first in your case.
