This scheme is operated through county committees of agriculture. Officers of my Department sought the view of the chief agricultural officers of the committees some months ago on the existing level of grants. The matter is being further examined in the light of the views expressed and of other relevant considerations. The scheme will, however, continue on the existing basis for the year 1967.
