Vol. 227 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions (Resumed). - Rathmines Garda Station.

29.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state with reference to Rathmines Garda Station when the temporary building will be brought into use; for what purposes it will be used; when the old building will be demolished; and when a new permanent structure will be erected.

The temporary building at Rathmines was brought into use as a Garda station on Tuesday, 28th February, 1967, and will continue to be used as a station until a new permanent one is erected.

It is intended to have the old building demolished as part of the contract for the erection of the new permanent station. The Commissioners of Public Works will shortly commence the preparation of sketch plans for the new station, but I cannot say at this stage when building operations will commence.
