Vol. 227 No. 5

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Kiosk.

15.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will make arrangements to have a telephone kiosk provided at a point near the shopping centre in Perrystown, County Dublin.

This area already has two kiosks, neither of which is heavily used. There is at present no need for an additional installation.

I am sure the Parliamentary Secretary does not know the area but I can tell him there is no kiosk in it. It is a populous area and it is a considerable distance to the nearest kiosk. I have had a number of complaints and I am sure that a colleague of mine on the Government front bench has also had a number of complaints.

There are three shopping centres there, at Whitehall Road, at Whitehall Road West and at Muckross Avenue. The first two are about 150 yards apart and there is a kiosk at Whitehall Road. There is also one at Muckross Avenue.

A distance of 150 yards: it is a good man who would step it.

There are three shopping centres there.

It is a very unsatisfactory answer.
