asked the Taoiseach the total number of persons who on 16th March, 1967 were the beneficial occupiers of agricultural land and who were either (a) applicants for unemployment assistance or (b) signing on for credits having been in receipt of unemployment assistance but who were disqualified from assistance by an employment period order; and the number of applicants for credits owing to a trade dispute and the number of students at college and other persons at work signing on for temporary seasonal employment.

The numbers on the registers at Local Offices on 16th March, 1967, in the categories specified were as follows:

(i) Persons who were the beneficial occupiers of agricultural land and who (a) were applicants for Unemployment Assistance, 11,730; (b) were applicants for credits while debarred from Unemployment Assistance, 199.

(ii) Applicants for credits due to trade disputes, 2.

(iii) Students and other seasonal non-claimants, 37.
