Vol. 227 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pension Scheme for Forestry Workers.

87.

asked the Minister for Lands when it is proposed to implement a pension scheme for forestry workers.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply to a similar question put down by Deputy James Tully on 15th March last. I have nothing to add to that reply.

Could the Minister indicate when he expects to say something positive in connection with this matter.

It has already been indicated by some of my colleagues and myself that the matter would be dealt with as soon as possible.

What is "as soon as possible"? Is it days, weeks, months or years?

I could say it another way: chomh luath agus is féidir nó gan mhoill.

There are some thousands of people expecting word in connection with this matter and surely the Minister could be a little more definite than he has been.

I cannot be more definite than I have been.

Question No. 88 postponed.
