Vol. 227 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tractor Driving Licences.

14.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will have licences granted to boys of 16 years of age to drive tractors on their fathers' farms.

A driver does not require a licence while driving a tractor on the farm. He does however require a licence while driving in a public place. As I indicated in reply to a recent question, I do not propose at this stage to reduce the present qualifying age of 17 years for a tractor driving licence.
