Vol. 227 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Pedestrian Crossing.

44.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will have a traffic check carried out at Walkinstown Cross, Dublin, where seven roads converge, with a view to recommending to the local authority the necessity for a pedestrian crossing there because of the heavy traffic and the danger to the 500 children who have to pass there on their way to and from school.

A traffic check was carried out by Dublin County Council early in March and the council then sought and were given the consent of the Commissioner, Garda Síochána, pursuant to section 96 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 for the appointment of a warden for duty on Cromwellsfort Road at a point about 50 yards east of Walkinstown Cross.
