Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Customs and Excise Duties.

55.

(South Tipperary) asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of 1966-67 (a) the total amount collected in excise and customs on (i) petrol and (ii) other road transport fuel; and (b) the total amount collected in customs duties on the import of transport vehicles, cars, lorries, vans etc. and parts therefor.

The answer is in the form of a tabular statement which with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report.

Following is the information:—

Excise and Customs duties on—

(i) petrol

24,703,000

(ii) other road transport fuel.

4,737,000

Customs duties (including Special Import Levy) on motor vehicles, parts and accessories.

5,337,000

NOTE: The figure shown for petrol represents approximate net receipts from Mineral Hydrocarbon Light Oil, which in practice is nearly all petrol. The figure shown for other road transport fuel represents the approximate net receipts from Hydrocarbon Oil, Other Sorts.
