Vol. 227 No. 11

Written Answers. - State Department Pensioners.

113.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state for each Government Department the number of pensioners with pensions of (a) under £1 per week, (b) £1 to £2, (c) £2 to £3, (d) £3 to £4, (e) £4 to £5, (f) £5 to £7 10s, (g) £7 10s to £10 and (h) over £10 per week; and the total number of pensioners.

Pensions are, with few exceptions, annual amounts, and the records available show annual ranges only. Particulars of certain ranges of annual amounts of State pensions were given in reply to a Parliamentary Question by Deputy Thomas J. Fitzpatrick (Cavan) on 9th February last. If the Deputy puts down a question next week, I will give him figures for the number of pensions in the ranges under £50 a year and from £450 to £525 a year.
