Vol. 227 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Intermediate Certificate Oral Examination.

53.

asked the Minister for Education if he will indicate the procedure he proposes to adopt in conducting the oral examination for intermediate certificate in Irish, English, modern languages, etc.; what changes are likely to be made in selecting personnel to conduct these examinations; and what payment, if any, will be granted.

Mr. O'Malley

The procedure to be adopted in conducting for the first time in 1969 oral tests in the languages in question at the intermediate certificate examination has not yet been decided. Therefore, I am not in a position to make any statement in the matter.

May I take it that the Minister will consult in advance with the interested parties in respect of these examinations?

Mr. O'Malley

Yes. In fact, these discussions are taking place.
