Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Galway Schools.

39.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware of the concern in Galway over the delay in building the new national school for boys and girls at Mervue; and if he will make a statement on the present position in the matter.

The Commissioners of Public Works are advised by the architect appointed by the manager that tenders for this work will be invited next month.

40.

asked the Minister for Finance when work will commence on the erection of the proposed central school in Ballyconneely, County Galway.

The plans, specification and bill of quantities for this school are being prepared and tenders will be invited as soon as possible. At this stage I cannot say when work can be commenced but there will be no avoidable delay.
