Vol. 228 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tipperary Milk Processing Project.

9.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries what progress has been made towards the attainment of the promised milk processing industry for Tipperary town.

I understand that the various dairying interests concerned are still actively considering this project but that they have not yet reached final conclusions thereon.

Is it not a fact that Tipperary town was the first place in Ireland to have a spray drying milk powder plant in Ireland?

Part of this conception is that the Dairy Disposal plant would be merged into a new grouping.

I think I am right in saying this was the first place in Ireland in which such a plant was established.

I would not be sure of that. The idea was that it should be merged into the greater development.

That is an admirable thing. I established it.
