Vol. 228 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Contributions to Occupational Injuries Fund.

56.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he proposes to pay a fixed sum of money into the fund constituted under the Social Welfare (Occupational Injuries) Act, 1966, or if his contributions will be in the form of a guaranteed subsidy, and what the amount of this fixed sum or guaranteed subsidy will be in the first year of operation of the fund.

The Occupational Injuries Fund will be financed entirely from the contributions paid in respect of insured persons but the Minister for Finance may, if necessary, during the first two years, advance, by way of loan, any sums required for the purpose of discharging the liabilities of the Fund.
