Vol. 228 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Superannuation Scheme for Nurses.

31.

asked the Minister for Health what progress has now been made on the introduction of a suitable superannuation scheme for nurses in all voluntary hospitals.

A draft superannuation scheme for the staffs of voluntary hospitals including nursing staffs has been prepared and is under examination. As soon as this examination is completed, it should be possible to implement the scheme—I am unable to specify the probable date of its introduction but I am endeavouring to avoid delay. The matter has been under discussion with representatives of the nursing staffs and they are fully aware of the present position.

(Cavan): Could the Minister state on what date was the draft scheme prepared?

Prepared or——

(Cavan): Prepared, or submitted.

It was submitted on 8th March last to the three Departments concerned.

Will this apply to all voluntary hospitals?
