Vol. 228 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Board of Works Labourers.

28.

asked the Minister for Finance if labourers employed by the Office of Public Works will be included in a superannuation scheme.

The provisions of the Superannuation Acts in regard to compassionate gratuities on retirement, death or redundancy apply to labourers employed on the services administered by the Office of Public Works. A pension scheme has been formulated for workers in Dublin employed directly by the Office on building maintenance. The men have been given an option of accepting the scheme or retaining their benefits under the Superanuation Acts. They have until 1st July, 1967, to exercise the option. There are no proposals to extend that scheme.
