Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Project Schemes.

15.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if the new maximum grant of £50 per acre for Land Project schemes in western and north-western counties applies to people who got approval to carry out such schemes before 1st April, 1965 but who did not start work until after that date; if he will make a statement on the present position in regard to such schemes; and if interested farmers now completing their Land Project work according to specifications will have their grants increased in accordance with latest costings.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. In the case of schemes issued prior to 1st April, 1964 and not completed by 18th August, 1965 the grants are revised upwards in line with August, 1965-March, 1966 costs but subject to the upper limit of £50 per acre in the western and north western counties and £45 per acre in the remainder of the country. Costs are not revised in the case of schemes issued after 1st April, 1964.

16.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he is aware that on 28th April, 1967 a person (name supplied) in County Cork notified the Land Project office that his Land Project scheme had been completed; and why the work has not so far been inspected.

An inspection of the scheme in question was made on 29th May, 1967, but revealed that some of the work had still to be completed on that date.
