8.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether a decision has yet been arrived at regarding a change in the operation of traffic lights at the junction of Harcourt Street and Saint Stephen's Green, Dublin, so as to ensure a more even and safer traffic flow.

I understand that Dublin Corporation have asked the firm which supplied and installed the traffic light signals at this junction for quotations for the alterations involved to the signals.

9.

andMr. Moore asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has had under consideration the provision of traffic lights at the junction at Ballsbridge, Shelbourne Road, Herbert Park and Elgin Road, Dublin so as to provide more safety both for pedestrians and motorists and to provide a more orderly and efficient flow of traffic.

Dublin Corporation's proposals for the acceptance of a tender for the supply and installation of traffic light signals at this junction and at the junctions of Anglesea Road with Merrion Road and of Northumberland Road with Pembroke Road, together with the corporation's proposals for the carrying out of ancillary works, are at present under examination in my Department. A decision will issue as soon as possible.
