Vol. 229 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Bridewell Death.

26.

Mr. Barrett

asked the Minister for Justice if he will submit an exact minute of the medical evidence, tendered at the inquest into the death of Liam O'Mahoney in the Bridewell, Cork, to an independent panel of three or more doctors with a view to eliciting the amount of force necessary or likely to be necessary to cause the injuries sustained by Mr. O'Mahoney; and if he will also make available to the panel, with a view to assisting its inquiry, all the persons who gave medical evidence and any other persons whom the panel might wish to interview.

In view of the fact that a tribunal of inquiry is to be established to inquire into the facts and circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. O'Mahoney, I consider that I should make no observations in relation to the matters in question.
