Vol. 230 No. 5

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Salthill (Galway) Patrol Car.

27.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware of the need for a Garda patrol car to be stationed at Salthill Garda station, County Galway during the tourist season; and if he will see that such a car is provided immediately.

The Garda strength at Salthill has been raised from seven to 15 for the summer months. Apart from a motorcycle which is permanently allocated to Salthill, there are three official cars, and two motorcycles in Galway city, which are available, as required, for duty at Salthill.

The Commissioner has assured me that the arrangements for policing Salthill during the summer months are adequate.

Is it a troublesome area?

An expensive one.
