Vol. 230 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork City Garda Station.

44.

asked the Minister for Justice if he has considered the advisability of providing a Garda station in Cork city in the built-up area of Farranree; and, if so, when such may be expected.

It is proposed to erect a new central station at Fair Street to replace the existing Shandon and Watercourse Road stations. This new station will serve the needs of Cork City North which includes the Farranree area. A site has been acquired from Cork Corporation but the legal formalities have not been concluded and it is not possible as yet to say when construction work will commence.
