Vol. 230 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Means Test for Disablement Benefit.

54.

asked the Minister for Health if, having regard to the continued hardship being suffered by disabled persons who are denied disablement benefit because the income of relatives is taken into account, he will have early steps taken to exclude the income of relatives from consideration of means of such persons.

I would draw the Deputy's attention to my reply of 7th June, 1967, to a similar question by Deputy O'Donnell. I hope to introduce legislation later this year dealing with this and other proposals in the White Paper.
