Vol. 230 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballymun Tower Blocks.

6.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power if any objection has been raised by Aer Lingus pilots in relation to the height of the tower blocks at Ballymun, Dublin; if he is satisfied that no danger exists for aircraft landing at Dublin Airport; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am not aware that any objections have been raised by Aer Lingus pilots in relation to the height of the tower blocks at Ballymun, Dublin. I am satisfied that the tower blocks do not constitute a hazard to aircraft navigation.

The height of the tower blocks is less than the maximum permissible height laid down by the International Civil Aviation Organisation of which this country is a contracting State. The site is not situated in the approach area of any of the runways at Dublin Airport.
