Vol. 230 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Pigs and Bacon Industry.

29.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will make a statement on the present serious situation in the pigs and bacon industry.

As the Deputy is no doubt aware, it has been announced following mediation that proposals for a settlement of the current labour dispute in the bacon curing industry are being considered by both sides. In view of this, I do not think it would be appropriate for me to comment on the situation at the moment.

And no thanks due to the Minister.

We do not seek thanks; we merely seek to serve.

You do not. You are the biggest dictators in Europe.
