asked the Minister for Lands how many farms have been acquired by the Land Commission (a) in County Roscommon and (b) in County Leitrim and have remained in the possession of the Land Commission (i) for three years or more and (ii) for five years or more without being divided; and the total acreage under each heading.

In County Roscommon the Land Commission have on hands for three years or longer 33 properties or remnants of allotted properties comprising 694 acres. Of these, 18 holdings or residues, comprising 383 acres, have been on hands for five years or longer. The total area allotted in County Roscommon during the last three complete financial years was approximately 8,200 acres.

In County Leitrim only three insignificant residues of allotted properties, totalling 18 acres, have been in possession of the Land Commission for three years or longer. The total area allotted in County Leitrim during the last three complete financial years was approximately 2,340 acres.
