asked the Minister for Social Welfare whether he will take steps to ensure that children over the age of 16 years will continue to be classified as dependants for the purposes of the Social Welfare Acts as long as they are retained in full-time education.

The introduction of legislation to enable children over the age of 16 years who are undergoing full-time education to be treated as dependants for the purposes of the Social Welfare Acts is not, at present, contemplated.
