Vol. 230 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Free Fuel Scheme.

53.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of recipients in the free fuel scheme in the Dublin area; whether delivery is effected in all cases; and whether any procedure is in operation whereby recipients may report inadequacies in the present scheme.

The average weekly number of recipients of fuel vouchers in the Dublin County Borough area during the 1966-67 winter season was 16,193.

Arrangements have been made by the Dublin Health Authority for delivery of fuel without charge, to certain classes of persons, such as disabled recipients of home assistance, in whose cases non-delivery would cause hardship. The health authority has also made arrangements whereby recipients may have the fuel collected at the depots by approved carters and delivered to their homes at a small charge.

Applicants for fuel who feel that they have cause for complaint should approach the officers of Dublin Health Authority who supervise the scheme.
