Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Assistance to Dublin Youth Clubs.

55.

asked the Minister for Education what assistance by way of grants or teaching facilities his Department make available to youth clubs in Dublin city; and if he has any plans to improve assistance to these clubs.

Mr. O'Malley

The annual grant which is paid to Comhairle le Leas Óige is made through the City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee for the purpose of establishing and maintaining youth training centres and of providing assistance to voluntary youth clubs in Dublin city. Provision has been made for the payment of a grant of £30,260 to An Chomhairle during the current financial year of which £12,190 has been set aside for teaching services. The provision to be made in the financial year 1968-1969 will be considered in connection with the preparation of the Estimates for the Public Services for that year.
