Vol. 230 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Distribution of Drug.

16.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if his attention has been drawn to a report that a canister examined in Britain contained a drug other than that which it was expressed to contain and bore a label showing that it had been supplied by a Dublin company; and what steps he proposes to take in relation to the matter.

I have seen the report in question and I am making enquiries into the matter. I am not in a position at this stage to indicate what steps I may take.

Could the Minister say if he has power to take steps?

Yes, I have. There are at least three legal courses open to us, one of which would be action on my part. There seems to be no doubt that there is power to deal with it.
