Vol. 230 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Prices of Bread and Flour.

18.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce what action he now proposes to take concerning the recommendation of the prices advisory body on the price of bread and flour that current prices could be reduced towards the end of 1967.

I assume the Deputy is referring to the recommendations of the Flour and Bread Prices Advisory Body that, after 12 months, that is in March, 1968, bread prices should be reduced by ½d per two-lb. loaf, if bakers' costs by then had not altered materially. I propose to have bakers' costs reviewed before March next.
