Vol. 231 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Traffic Hazard on County Dublin Road.

18.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the serious traffic and pedestrian hazard arising from the poor surface and narrow width of Carysfort Avenue, Blackrock, Dublin; and what action he intends to take in the matter.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply of 26th April, 1967, to his previous question on the subject. Objections were received to the compulsory purchase order referred to therein and a public local inquiry as to the propriety of confirming the order has been arranged to take place on 5th and 6th December, 1967. No proposals have yet been received in my Department in relation to the scheme for the improvement of the remainder of the road. I understand, however, from the Corporation that the scheme is at present in course of preparation.
