NOTES
1. It is not possible at present to indicate when the individual estates mentioned will be allotted but there will be no avoidable delay.
2. Land acquisition and resumption dealings between the Land Commission and landowners are private transactions and it has not been the practice to disclose information which could be identified with a particular owner until such time as the proceedings reach a stage when they become public, e.g. compulsory acquisition proceedings instituted. By way of general comment it can be said that in Co. Tipperary (SR) a total of seven estates aggregating some 300 acres are at present the subject of enquiry with a view to considering acquisition or purchase. In addition, negotiations are in progress for voluntary purchase of 18 properties comprising 1,870 acres and proceedings are at various stages for compulsory acquisition of nine estates containing 950 acres.
