Vol. 231 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Gaming and Lotteries Act.

22.

asked the Minister for Justice if, having regard to the considerable fall in the value of money since 1956 and the increasing difficulty which many charitable organisations are having in making an adequate profit out of the operation of weekly lotteries, he will introduce legislation to amend the Gaming and Lotteries Act, 1956 to permit larger prizes and stakes in lotteries operated for charitable or philanthropic purposes.

I have no such proposal in mind at the present time.
