Vol. 232 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Appointment of County Donegal Surgeon.

182.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware of the demand for the services of an ear, nose and throat surgeon in County Donegal; if his Department have any prospects of appointing one at an early date; and, if not, if he will negotiate with the Northern Ireland Health Authority with a view to having the services of a surgeon from Northern Ireland available in County Donegal.

I have recently sanctioned a proposal from Donegal County Council, whereby an ear, nose and throat surgeon will hold regular clinics at Letterkenny and Buncrana. The County Council propose in addition to utilise the services of another ear, nose and throat surgeon to hold clinics in Donegal town.
