Vol. 232 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Achill Landing Facilities.

10.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries when it is expected that work will commence on improving the landing facilities at Darby's Point, Achill, County Mayo, where extra boats have now been provided and a store has been erected by fishermen to hold catches.

Improvements in the landing facilities at Darby's Point in the interests of the local sea fishing industry are expected to be commenced in about eight or nine months time. The cost of the works, estimated at £38,000, will be met in full by the Exchequer, provided that Mayo County Council will, as is the practice, accept responsibility for the future maintenance of the completed works.
