8.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will give the latest annual figures available for the number of fishing boats repossessed by Bord Iascaigh Mhara from fishermen who operated them in the ports of (a) Howth, (b) Killybegs, (c) Arklow, and (d) Dunmore; and the total number of boats repossessed in all ports.

The information is as follows and relates to the year 1967:

(a) Howth

Nil.

Nil.

(c) Arklow

1.

(d) Dunmore East

Nil.

The total number of boats repossessed by An Bord Iascaigh Mhara during the year 1967 was 12.

9.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries (a) whether any boats repossessed by Bord Iascaigh Mhara are at present in harbour; (b) the length which each such boat has been in harbour; and (c) the amount, if any, of harbour dues outstanding to the appropriate harbour authorities on these repossessed boats.

The answer to the first part of the question is that there are no such boats. The other parts of the question do not therefore arise.

Have they been disposed of?

There are not any such boats at present in harbour.

Where are they?

There is one boat undergoing repairs and there are two smaller boats which have been brought ashore. In all, there are only three boats which are not at sea at present.

Out of the water?

One is undergoing repairs, necessarily out of the water, but no harbour dues are being paid.
