Vol. 232 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Forestry Work.

27.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he will give special consideration to a proposal to carry out intensive re-afforestation work in the Glenflesk area and in the Clydagh Valley near Clonkeen, County Kerry where there is unemployment and where large tracts of land are available for planting.

My Department are providing work in the vicinity but unfortunately during the season of the year when major work is in progress the areas can only be reached from Clonkeen by a detour of 25 miles. This would make such employment inconvenient for the persons living in these areas.
