Vol. 232 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Transport of Fish from Mayo.

6.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will consider granting a subsidy for the conveyance of fresh fish from Achill and remote areas in North Mayo to Dublin markets.

I doubt whether such an arrangement would be practicable and, in any event, it would raise the much larger question of a similar arrangement for the transport of agricultural and fishery products generally from remote areas.

Could the Parliamentary Secretary say whether there is a marketing difficulty in relation to fish in that area in Mayo?

Not to my knowledge.
