Vol. 232 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Road Traffic Accident Cases.

52.

asked the Minister for Health if, with a view to relieving taxpayers and ratepayers of the cost of hospitalisation and medical treatment for persons injured in road traffic accidents, he will authorise hospitals and health authorities to recover such costs from the insurance companies concerned.

I have no power to give such an authorisation under the existing Health Acts but I am considering whether some provision of this nature should be included in forthcoming legislation.
