asked the Minister for Labour if he is aware that the district cashiers and female office assistants of the ESB have been on strike or locked out since 23rd February, 1968, in pursuance of a five day working week exclusive of Saturdays; and if he will take steps, if necessary by the introduction of legislation, to compel the ESB to adopt a policy of equality in this matter amongst all its employees.

At the request of the ESB General Employees Tribunal, the Labour Court is preparing to investigate this dispute.
