Vol. 234 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal Telephone Kiosk.

4.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if, in view of the fact that telephone poles and wires pass near Belault, Pettigo, County Donegal, and that the nearest telephone to Belault is four miles away, he will have a telephone kiosk erected there.

A kiosk at Belault is not warranted.

Would the Minister agree that the people living in isolated parts of Ireland can only be encouraged to remain there if we give them some of the social amenities available to residents in other parts? Will he endeavour to give those people living on the Border, and who look with envy across the Border at their neighbours who have these facilities, such a facility as a public kiosk in an isolated part of West Donegal?

I will have another look at it, but I will not promise.
