Vol. 234 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Poultry Food.

38.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce on what dates since 1st January, 1967, he has given permission for increases in the price of poultry food; and the amount of the increase permitted by him on each occasion.

I have not given permission for any increase in the price of poultry food since 1st January, 1967. Because of the frequent fluctuations in the price of the raw materials used in animal feeding stuffs, it has not been found practicable to submit them to detailed price control. Manufacturers of poultry foods are not therefore required to obtain my permission for increases in their prices.
