Vol. 235 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - CIE Pension Scheme.

6.

(Dublin) asked the Minister for Transport and Power if a revised pension scheme is now being prepared for the manual workers employed by CIE; and, if so, when it is expected to have this scheme completed.

Notification that schemes to amend the existing CIE wages grade superannuation schemes had been prepared and submitted to me for confirmation under the Transport Act 1950, was published in the Press at the end of March, 1968. Following this publicity, I received some representations on the proposed amending schemes.

These and other aspects of the schemes are at present being examined. I cannot at this stage say when I can confirm the schemes, but confirmation will be expedited as far as practicable.
